I have VERY thick and curly hair. Its nice once in a while but when I go to straighten it SOMETIMES it gets frizzy and other times its perfect. My question is though, does anyone have any tips on how I can keep my hair straight at night and throughout the daytime? Try some of Paul Mitchell's super skinny, a dab will do, or Redken's smooth down product line. It is worth spending the extra money, it goes further and makes your hair look better. Use a mousse, let air dry and then straighten, it will help to keep it straight, you can blow dry with a diffuser but it will be more difficult to tame the frizzies.

Well, before you plop down big bucks to fry your hair. Think about this...you can save money and striaghten your hair for the day, and the rest of the time manage those crazy frizzy waves and curls. Check this out...MIXED CHICKS Hair Care(www.mixedchicks.net). This stuff is great.

1.Shampoo, rinse

2.Deep condition, comb out tangles, rinse

3.Work the leave-in throughout wet hair.

4.Air dry (No towel or blowdrying)

5.Go

On day two, don't shampoo, just cleanse with the deep if your hair is dirty or just re-wet and reapply the leave in. You shouldn't have to shampoo more than two times a week.

For the occasional striaght look, use the same routine before you iron your hair straight. Mixed Chicks is a good thermal protector.

Might be worth a shot. If you blast with chemicals, eventually your hair will come back "home" and you will be puffy and fried. Mixed Chicks really will tame the frizz and poof and define curls.

If you dont want to use a flat iron, you can get some straightening lotion, put it on damp hair, then brush your hair while blow drying.

It may take awhile but it works pretty well.

My ultimate suggestion is either a flat iron, or a chemical straightner.

Brush your hair out, let air dry, and dont brush it anymore, that will cause friss. When it is perfectly dry, then begin straightening your hair. Dont buy conair or anything like that, they do not work. Instead, buy a revlon straightener, turn it up all the way, and let it heat up for a couple of minutes. Then pull your hair up into a "half up, half down" kinda thing, straighten the hair underneath until it is perfectly straightened, then release some more hair, straighten it until it is perfectyl straight, and continue until all of your hair is completed. ^_^

Some people did not understand you dont' have the cash. A ceramic flat iron is the best. Second option is to blow dry. Do not blow dry when your hair is wet. Blow dry little streaks at a time when hair is almost dry. Your hair will want to go back to puffy or kinky or curly if you don't spend enough time with each streak. It needs to be silky straight before you go out. If you have a spray or cream it helps to add it. If you don't have any any of these then you need to wash your hair and comb it wet and rull in a towel and go to bed. When it dries it will be set atleast. Not straight but it will remove a lot of volume and kinkyness much. It helps if you put a little bit of conditioner on the ends and on the lenght of it.

2. another thing you can do is go to a local salon and ask them it they can make it straight for you. it wont last forever but they make it stay straight for a short period of time. my friend had it done. her hair went to her but and it was really frizzy and super curly. but her hair stayed straight for a while. just ask your local salonist if they have a process that can do that.
