How do you make your hair straight and not so poofy?

I already use a straightner but i don't want to fry my hair, so how can i make it straight w/o straighting it but not have it so poofy?

Use an anti-humectant serum when your hair is clean and damp. CHI is a good choice. Then when your hair is dry, apply a small amount of Loreal Studio Smooth Perfect (Instant Control Fluid) to your hair and smooth it from top to end. :) It works for me.

Also, get your hairdresser to add in some layers to add dimension and reduce some poofiness. :)

there are alot of straightening creams you can use with a blow dryer.. they sort of work. but not as good as a straightener. to not fry your hair so much you should use a thermal spray that protects your hair against the heat. then itll take the heat away and not your hair with it!

you could try using a straighting cream like sunsilk 24/7 straight and then blow drying with a paddle brush.

or you could still straighten your hair and use a heat protection lotion for your hair like got2b crazysleek

What I do is condition my hair and when i rinse it out i leave in some contioner, put a serum on it, and let it dry..... my hair straightens better when its dry, but while you're sraightening it, apply an oil (to each piece you straighten) that doesnt have water as its main ingrediant... that usually reduces frizz for me.

If you apply the serum or another heat protector, it should do as much damage to your hair, but no matter what, straightening your hair will damage it because when you straighten it, your hair fries and loses its elasticity.

Get some Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion. Apply it to your hair after you wash it and condition it with your moisturizer. Then blow dry it while gently stretching the hair straight. After hair is dry, use a flat iron if needed. Your hair will be straight pretty much until you wash it again.

Use a straightening cream before blow drying. Section your hair and blow dry sections of your hair for a straighter more proffessional blow dry.

You could even book a blow drying/styling lession with your hair stylist and theyll show you step by step how to achieve that out of the salon look.

Use a lower setting on your strightners and a heat defence spray to reduce split ends and heat damage. And try using an ionic hair dryer to reduce frizz and flyaways.
