this is an impossible job. even when i use a straightner it won't be straight! it's like alien hair! and i can't get it relaxed because my mom won't let me use chemicals on my hair. what can i do?

You should totally buy a straightning iron!...They really work and I don't hardly ever use any products. well it usually depends on the power of the streightener. a good one is normally kinda expensive, but not always. and when you streighten it you should layer your hair by putting the top in a bun and streighten the bottom and then do the top ;)

There are several things you can do, but here is the best idea, in order:

1. wash and condition your hair with Sleek (by Matrix. It comes in orange bottles and is a salon product, but is now sold at Target in the professional haircare section of the shampoos!) This is the only thing that works on my hair and I love it.

2. Use a straightening blow dryer. I found a pink one at target that was "as seen on TV" and it works like a charm. There is an comb attachment you put on the end and it combs your hair straight while blow drying. If you cannot find this particular dryer, use one of those round blow dryers. It is essential that you dont blow dry your curls cause they will stay that way!

3. Flat iron it with a CERAMIC iron. And not just a ceramic coated iron, but a full ceramic iron. I found one at Sally's beauty supply for $50, but they can be more expensive than that if you want. And get a small iron, not one with the huge, flat plates. The flat iron should only be about 1-2 inches in width. Anything bigger will not be as effective because an iron cannot flatten a huge chunk of hair. Getting a small iron allows you to flatten the correct amount of hair. And ceramic is WAY better for your hair- ask any stylist!

4. If your mom decides to let you use a little product, Sleek makes sprays and gels you can put on afterward to help keep your hair straight throught the say.
