Put her hair up in a bun at night then put a sleeping cap on her. They sell them in the ethnic hair sections - those are the ones I use.

Oh, one of the comments below reminded me - use Satin or Silk!!

I am also half black and i know how much of a hassle the hair problem can get. well i straigten it at night and wear a head wrap.when i wake up my hair is still straight but has a few creases so all i have to do is straighten it again once over for about five minutes. *just remember she should let it be natural sometimes too. her hair type can damage very easily

The easiest and most comfortable way to keep it fresh is to do a wrap on the styled hair at bedtime. Just wrap the straight hair around the head in sections, clock-wise or counterclockwise, almost like a beehive hairdo. Keep the hair as close to the head as possible, pinning in place with pins that won't leave a mark in hair. It's as if the head is a giant roller, and you're rolling the hair to it, look at it that way. Smoothly wrap a silk or satin scarf around it, then take them down in the morning, hair is still straight, and will have nice body and bounce as well.

It also helps to invest in satin or silk pillowcases as well. The hair glides off them, rather than cotton or polyester, where it snags the hair. It not only preserves any style better, but is healthier for the hair, too.

Hope that helps!
