Hi, it could be your hair straightners are not hot enought to make the straigteness last. I have tried loads of hair straigteners that dont even straigten properly. Kodo are good hair straigteners and are around 鎷?0 and ghd are even better 鎷?9. Ive just got some GHDS and they are brilliant and you are guarantee with both hair straigteners you will have poker straight hair until you wash it again. If you are unable to get a pair of these then try using a heat protection spray that you can use on your hair whilst straightening. Try charles worthington stay smooth or ASDAs own which is the one i use, it leaves my hair soft and conditions it also.
It could also be if they are old type of hair straigteners they will take ages to heat up so you may need to leave them for a good 5 mins to reach the highest temperature.
I cant understand why your hair is becoming sticky though do you have naturally greasy hair, or it could be your shampoo.

Wash and blow dry your hair in the morning, and then straighten it. At night, pull your hair back into a low ponytail with a scrunchy or some other loose pony tail holder. Then, in the morning you will only have to straighten out a small crease. It's pretty unrealistic to expect hair to stay straight and ungreasy for more than two days. You should at LEAST be washing it every other day.

Try using L'Oreal Hot Straight (costs around 3.49 pounds or about $3.50 you'd get it from Superdrug, Boots, Sainsbury or CVS if you're in the States) and use it on each lock of hair and straighten it. It will take about 1 hour or so depending on how fats you can do it and the length of your hair... but I guarantee you're hair will stay staright until you wash it off next time...

try using products on your hair specially for straightening your hair but not to many that could make it a bit sticky
